Rory Avenstrüp has traveled the world of the stage, television and film for over   twenty years performing in, and staging a variety of productions after completing her studies at UNISA and the Afrikaans Drama Akademie (ADK) in Cape Town.

For renowned film producer and director Katinka Heyns she took a part in the film PALJAS, and worked with Bo Derek and Robert Mitchum on the film WOMAN OF DESIRE. Her other film and television credits include the children’s series MOF en MAT, the filmed for television production of the opera ELISIR D’ AMORE, and more recently she filmed in Singapore on a production of BARNEY.    

In theatre she has worked among other with the award-winning playwright and director Charles J. Fourie on the productions of his plays DIE CRAZER, acting opposite André Roothman, 69 HAIKU’S staged at Café Skokiaan, and was also assistant producer on the award-winning play VRYGROND which toured the country, including the Market Theater in Johannesburg.

For director Megan Furniss she appeared alongside Graham Weir, Christine Weir and Adrian Galley in A CIRCUS SIDESHOW at the Artscape Arena theatre playing the part of Pinky.

She has also worked with prominent theater director Mavis Taylor on IT’S A PITY SHE’S A WHORE for Arstcape, and acted opposite Saraha Theron and Soli Philander in CAFE BOERLESQUE, by Hennie van Greunen which was nominated for a Fleur du Cap theater award.

 As a puppeteer and children’s theatre enthusiast she has written  and staged her own shows touring the country and entertaining the youth with productions like O AARDE! and DUIMPIE en SY MAATS under the banner of her own company.

 Rory completed 8 years as a performer with MADAME ZINGARA acting various roles and is currently available for theater, film, advertising and corporate bookings for 2018. Send her an e-mail on request or contact her agent.
